Proposals to inflate parking fines for traffic offences during the London Olympic Games have been dismissed by the Department for Transport (DfT).
LBC 97.3FM reports that the DfT is rejecting calls made by games organisers, the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA), which proposed to increase fines from £130 to £200 during the two-week spectacle.
If implemented, the move could have seen drivers facing higher charges for flouting parking rules around the Olympic Park and Greenwich, or for using so-called express 'Games Lanes'.
