Van drivers some of the most intelligent motorists, says study
A new exam has dispelled the myth that white van drivers are unintelligent.
Competing against 4x4 drivers, taxi drivers, BMW drivers and cyclists, van drivers were the highest scorers in the intelligence test recently issued by constructaquote.com
Both van owners and those who engaged in contract van hire were tested and found to be particularly knowledgeable in the geography, art and music categories. They were also amongst the highest scoring participants when tested on their knowledge of the Highway Code.
Constructaquote.com spokesman Lyndon Wood said that the results matched his experiences with van drivers.
Speaking to The Daily Mail, he said: "Hopefully people will think twice before they make comments about white van men in the future. We have proven that the myth surrounding van drivers is just that, a myth.
"The stereotype is completely outdated now as we find more and more people setting up their own businesses."
Despite performing the worst at history, van drivers will be delighted that their representatives scored the most overall points in the intelligence test.
In contrast, taxi drivers performed the worst in every single subject whilst 4x4 drivers also scored particularly poorly, especially when quizzed about the Highway Code.
According to truthdive.com, eight out of ten van drivers knew that there were twelve inches in a foot compared to just three out of ten taxi drivers.
