Hundreds of thousands to spend New Years Eve out in London
Hundreds of thousands of Brits are expected to travel to London to celebrate the end of 2011 tomorrow.
According to The Guardian, more than a quarter of a million people are expected to crowd in and around the Southbank area to view the firework display which traditionally ushers in the new year.
Thousands more have booked tickets to commemorate the beginning of 2012 in one of the capital's many nightclubs.
Considering New Year's Eve is regarded by most as the biggest party night of the year, some revellers may choose to arrive in style by investing in luxury car hire. London is the unofficial capital of partying when it comes to New Year's Eve so topping it off by travelling in a luxury vehicle could a special treat for potential partygoers.
The Metropolitan Police have announced that they will deploy around 3,000 officers to ensure that those celebrating the new year in London are kept as safe as possible.
In an interview with The Press Association, Scotland Yard chief superintendent Julia Pendry urged the public for their support in making this target a reality.
She said: "New Year's Eve is a special time of the year and we want people to enjoy it to the full. Make you look after yourself and those around you. Officers will be out and about to deter criminals and keep crowds safe."
